Just right in time for students to go back to school, Microsoft is bringing the education edition of its blocky video game Minecraft to Chromebooks. The version for education is designed to aid educators in teaching everything, from science, technology engineering and math (STEM), to language, history, and art. According to Microsoft the program is licensed by thousands across 115 countries. In addition to being available on Chromebooks, Microsoft said the most recent version of the game has new STEM lessons as well as a special Minecraft world that was created in conjunction with the American Beekeeping Federation's Kids and Bees program. Minecraft: Education Edition for Chromebook requires an Microsoft account to login -- the game is licensed by schools through Microsoft 365 for Education -however, the company says it is working to let users sign in using an account on Google account, too.
